Local Tough-Man Trail run give runners a real test of endurance

Saturday’s 1st Tough-Man trail run lived up to its name, by giving over 120 trail runners a good run for their money. A beautiful clear morning greeted the trail runners as they lined up for the start at Intaba View restaurant in Botha’s Hill. The course was designed to test the limit of each person’s endurance over a 10km course, while running amongst wild animals and through insane valleys.

The route dropped the runners down into the PheZulu nature reserve, before having to climb “Monster” hill which boasts a 36deg incline, testing even the fittest of athletes. Top SA Athletes Matt Krezmann and Carla van Hysteen claimed line honours by winning in a time of 49min and 58min respectively. The next exciting Tough-Man trail run takes place on the 8th of December at Intaba View and entries are limited to 300.
