RECORD turnout for 2011 Suncoast Series Final
Record numbers turned out for the Suncoast Multisport Series final at Suncoast beach in Durban. Almost 180 Olympic distance athletes took to the sea for their 1.5km Swim, before challenging the 40km cycle route and the 10km run route. 130 Sprint Triathlon And duathlon Athletes started off for the sprint race, which gave athletes a more manageable distance to complete. The rookie event attracted over 50 entries, with these athletes racing over a 200m swim, 5km cycle and 1.25km run course.

Henri Schoeman won the men's race, beating Glen Gore and Gilbert Quevilliers into second and third respectively. Lauren Dance travelled from JHB to win the ladies event, beating Janine Carey and Kim Watchurst. In the Sprint Duathlon, John Nthuli won ahead of Juan Botsis and Annette Hoyer won the ladies duathlon ahead of gay Anderson.

The Start of the 2012 Suncoast Multisport Series takes place on the 25th of March 2012. Entries will be open from the 13th February.
